The wireless charging bay in the LC250 centre console is a smooth plastic tray, and a phone laid straight onto it slides off the coil every time you turn or hit a corrugation. This silicone pad drops into the bay and holds the phone in a raised surround, so the charge stays connected and the console plastic underneath does not pick up scratches.
