The Model 3 and Model Y console has two USB-C ports at the front of the storage bin, and reaching them means fishing cables out from under the lid every time. This dock sits in that bin at 11mm thick, plugs into the existing ports and brings retractable leads and extra outputs up to where you can reach them, with the lid still closing flat on top.
